Police officer with the City of Irving 1991 to todays date. Being a member of USA Boxing and coaching since 1992. Currently head coach of the Irving Police Athletic League. Current certifications are IBA Coach, Green level coach, Level 2 Referee and Judge and Official in Charge. Was past president of Southwestern Association in the late 1990's early 2000's
I have been around boxing virtually all of my life, starting at 6 years old in Iowa. I have boxed in both amateur and professional bouts including State and National Golden and Silver Gloves competitions, Toughman competitions and nationally televised HBO Pay Per View, Fox Sports and Telemundo matches. I never declined a bout which likely led to recording 50 losses across my 15 year career as an amateur. I never backed down and saw every match as an opportunity to prove that I could do more and be the best. After retiring from boxing, I was a part of 5-year brain study at the Center for Brain Health in Dallas where I gained a lot of knowledge on brain injuries. Safety in our sport is a priority to me. After a short departure from the sport in my early 30's, I realized that it was time for me to coach. I began coaching boxers in my garage in Frisco, TX in 2013. My first clients came from both far away and within our neighborhood. Now, after more than a decade, two garage gyms and about a year serving as head coach at another gym, Legacy Boxing Gym is now a 501 (c)(3) with over 70 members (youth & adult). Our gym is proud to have 22 boxers and 3 coaches that hold USA Boxing memberships. My gym has grown in membership and size, I have taken over other spaces, I met with a former USA boxing president and I was put on the National Coaches Committee.
I serve on our recently launched LBC’s coaches committee and am an active USA Boxing Official. I was pivotal in the establishment of the committee because I really want our coaches to have a voice. We have a lot of great coaches in our LBC with a lot of experience. My hope is that they will share that expertise with us. In time, I would like to add a marketing and officials committee as well. We have around 75 officials in our LBC, but only 15 to 20 are actively working matches. I have a plan to increase those numbers and recruit more officials. Our LBC has some of the best officials in the USA. I want to have them share that knowledge with the next generation of Officials. I want to create a marketing committee that can help promote our sport and help us generate funds for our LBC.
I never pictured myself in the role of LBC President, however, my love for this sport runs deep and I believe that we have tremendous opportunity in our LBC and in USA Boxing. There is a tremendous amount of talent in our LBC that deserves a chance. Greater access to affordable gyms and competition opportunities could provide an avenue for youth to excel in sports and keep them out of trouble. We need to give our youth those opportunities. We need to give the sport a chance to excel once again and I would be honored to serve in a role that could make that a reality. Serving as LBC President, is an important way that I can make a significant contribution to amateur boxing locally.
In addition to decades of boxing experience, I hold a Bachelor's of Arts Degree from Western Illinois University and, along with my family, I'm an active member of our local church, Fellowship Church in Grapevine, TX. I am extremely active in our community having developed strong relationships with local business leaders, schools, police departments, city officials and churches in our area.

I have served as a USA Boxing judge and referee for the past two years. I have volunteered and associated with the Irving Police Activity League and served our youth as both the oldest boxer and coach. I really believe in the work our Southwestern association coaches do in teaching life skills to our youth through the medium of boxing. Our youth deserve the very best of all of us who volunteer. As Vice-President of our association, I would support our boxers, coaches, and association officers and do my best to help raise the quality of our coaching and the quality of our shows so our youth are given the fullest opportunity to grow and excel in the sport of amateur boxing.
Secretary#
I have been apart of USA Boxing since 2022 and I have received my bronze coaching certification and my level 1 official certification. I have been apart of boxing for many years prior to this. I bring ample amount of knowledge of being a secretary. My career path now I am an Administrative Assistant for an oil and gas company. I have many ideas that I would like to bring to USA Boxing #26 Southwestern LBC. I believe with a strong board leadership we can take our LBC into the future and bring in some great clubs and boxers that can take our LBC to the next level.
Police officer with Dallas and love mentoring and coaching kids. Also want to see consistency in officiating, messaging and tournament efficiency. The better we get with consistency and repetition in skills of officiating, tournament efficiency the more our LBC will thrive. Also a need to focus on passing down standard operating procedures.
