With a handful of veterans, Team USA has a young star in the making in Yoseline Perez. At just 19-years-old, Perez is the youngest of the 13 boxers, but that doesn’t stop how dominant she has been. The young prodigy out of Houston hopes to continue her strong performance in the ring in the elite stage as she makes the transition from the youth division. Perez won gold at the 2022 Youth World Championships and secured bronze in the 2022 USA Boxing Elite National Championships, as well as gold at the 2022 USA Boxing Elite National Qualifier. Perez could become the third female from Houston to punch her ticket in the Olympics, following in the footsteps of Team USA greats, Marlen Esparza and Virginia Fuchs.
