The 2024 USA Boxing National Open will begin on Monday, March 11, in Albuquerque, N.M., where over 800 boxers from various destinations from around the country have registered to compete with hopes of winning the first national tournament of 2024 for USA Boxing.

“We are excited to be back in Albuquerque for another national tournament,” stated Luke Santangelo, USA Boxing Communications Coordinator. “The last time USA Boxing was in Albuquerque was in 2017 and 2018, where multiple boxers who competed are now representing Team USA this summer in Paris.  We expect this event to be the first look at some of our 2028 Olympic hopefuls.”

The National Open will kick off our Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games cycle, where boxers in the youth (16-17 years old) and elite divisions (18-39 years old) will try and make a name for themselves and begin their 2028 Olympic run.

The 2024 USA Boxing National Open will also see boxers in the PeeWee (8-9 years old), bantam (10-11 years old), intermediate (12-13 years old), and junior (14-15 years old) divisions step inside the ropes of one of the four rings that will be set in the Albuquerque Convention Center during the week-long event.

The event will feature two sessions, noon and 6:00 p.m. local time, Monday-Thursday, with one noon session on Friday and Saturday.

The 2024 National Open will also provide flu and coronavirus vaccines as USA Boxing and the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP)’s joint “Coaching You Up” program will be in attendance. This will be the fifth national event where USA Boxing and ASCP will collaborate, with the objective being to promote healthy living, education, and vaccination free of charge for the local communities.
