SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - Harold Wilan is a legendary boxing trainer who still operates the Sarasota Boxing Club. Wilan tells ABC7 Sports the local boxing game is back and Suncoast residents can watch live boxing up close and personal.

“We have not had an amateur show in Sarasota in many years, I say maybe since 2020 when we had a different location for everybody to come to,” Wilan said.

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. — There are many fields of study taught on college campuses that involve the sciences. None of these sciences, at least according to the thousands of recognized academic disciplines, has earned the colloquial designation of the "sweet science." That undisputed title belongs to the sport of boxing. One Slippery Rock University professor, who has won a few amateur boxing championships in his life, recently had the opportunity to lace up his gloves one more time and give his SRU students one of the more unique science lessons they've ever had.

DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. (WXYZ) — At Hype Athletics in Dearborn Heights, a new breed of boxers are being built. One of them is 15-year-old Hadi Al-Mashhadi. With over 30 fights and ten national titles under his belt, Hadi is now ranked number one in boxing's junior division across the country.
